Public cleanups are just the first step in activating activism. Through education we can create lasting change. 

Classroom on the Sand

A two-hour educational coastline cleanup, with the location and date determined 
by your institution in collaboration with Clean MB.

 

  • Including a watershed model presentation with bonus games by Blue Scholars Initiative.
  • Benefiting mental and physical health by being outside, connecting with nature and peers.
  • An active hands-on learning experience concerning the negative impact of plastic pollution and the importance of a healthy ocean.
  • Adaptable for all education levels, making it inclusive for a wide range of students.
  • Collecting scientific data via app ‘Clean Swell’ through the Ocean Conservancy.
  • For up to 25-35 elementary or middle school students.

Micro-Plastic Art Workshop

Increasing awareness about ocean conservation through artivism.

 

  • Creating art that represent scenes, habitats, and animals from our ocean
  • A creative art workshop using ocean plastics collected from past cleanups for Clean MB’s Art Project, “The Plastic Aquarium”
  • Learning about the beauty and power of repurposing trash into art.
  • Educating about the harmful effects of plastic on our wildlife.

 Presentation: Impact of Plastic on our Earth

An educational follow-up session that complements the lessons learned during cleanups and workshops.

  • Ensuring students stay engaged and continue to contribute to environmental initiatives.
  • Fostering a long-term commitment to environmental stewardship.
  • Encouraging ongoing participation to reinforce the positive impact of cleanups
  • The presentation deck and interactive Kahoot game can be delivered in-school or virtually.

Trash to Change Workshop

A virtual workshop that empowers participants to reduce plastic waste, encourages sustainable habits, and fosters community engagement in environmental conservation.
